A beam balance:
A spring balance:

This is the question that my group did:A spring balance will give a different mass reading on the moon from that on earth.A beam balance, however, will give the same reading.Explain why.

Spring balance and beam balance measures different things.
Beam balance measures mass while spring balance measures weight.
The S.I unit of the beam balance is kg while the S.I unit for mass is in newtons(N)

Mass remains constant while weight is dependent on the gravitational pull of the planet. Mass only changes with a change in matter that results in a change of volume.
